play therapist for kids, adolescents, and teens in West Virginia

Hi, I’m Stephanie!

Stephanie Majetich is a licensed certified social worker and registered play therapist with over 9 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and teens. Driven by building a strong therapeutic relationship, she takes pride in providing the best treatment possible. As a therapist, her goals include helping children heal and process trauma, overcome anxiety and depression, build self-esteem, process changes in family dynamics, and develop healthy coping tools.

In addition to her primary job functions, Stephanie serves on the West Virginia Executive Board for Play Therapy. During her time at Jackson County Schools, Stephanie established a social-emotional learning curriculum to teach children how to appropriately express their feelings, establish healthy coping tools, and build self-esteem. Stephanie worked with other educators at Henry J. Kaiser to obtain a grant for sensory materials to assist students with self-regulation and impulse control. Stephanie was also part of the establishment of the Inner Explorer Program, which works towards developing mindfulness. Inner Explorer featured Stephanie and Henry J. Kaiser to show how mindfulness and social-emotional learning benefited students emotionally and academically.

Stephanie’s future plans include obtaining certification in Adlerian Play Therapy, writing a children’s book, and becoming a Professor at a local University.
